Research

My research is organized around two main lines of inquiry: climate change communication and AI literacy.

Climate Change Communication

I study how audiences form beliefs about climate change, and how those beliefs are shaped by media systems, disinformation, and epistemic trust in science. My doctoral thesis used Latent Class Analysis to identify distinct audience segments in Spain’s climate change perception landscape, and this line of work has since expanded into questions of media polarisation, institutional trust, and how first-order factual claims get entangled with normative-practical ones in public debate.

Methodologically, this involves survey analysis, large-scale web scraping of Spanish news media, NLP, and network analysis, combined with a close interest in the philosophy of science underlying empirical claims about audience belief formation.

AI Literacy

Through CIRMA-CM, a project funded by the Comunidad de Madrid, I study AI literacy and cybersecurity — how citizens understand, evaluate, and navigate AI-driven systems and the risks associated with them. This line of work connects to my broader interest in disinformation and media literacy, extending it into the specific challenges posed by generative AI and algorithmic media environments.
